Built in 1969, La Merced Homes and El Rosario Homes are three-and-four bedroom brick homes that provide affordable and safe housing for low-income families.

Unlike a housing project, the homes are sprinkled throughout well-established neighborhoods in Mission and Mercedes. Each home has both a front and back yard.

The 198 rental units, 99 in Mission collectively known as El Rosario Homes and 99 in Mercedes called La Merced Homes are owned and operated by the Diocese of Brownsville.
