Convalidation Conference

Congratulations on your decision to marry in the Catholic Church. We are pleased to take part in your sacramental marriage preparation. God bless you in these grace filled moments and know of our prayers as you embark together on this holy vocation.

Convalidation Conference is best suited for:

• Civilly married couples who have been married 3-25+ years
• Cohabiting couples of 3-25+ years

The Convalidation Conference offers sacramental marriage preparation for civilly married couples who seek marriage in the church. During the conference, couples learn about marriage as a Sacrament and as a lifelong process; and will also have a wonderful opportunity to enrich and renew their commitment to themselves, their families and to God.

Before registering for this retreat you should have:

• Gone to a parish and met with your Priest or marriage preparation minister to begin your marriage preparation process.
• Obtained from your Priest or marriage preparation minister the recommendation to attend a convalidation conference.

The Family Life Office sponsors six scheduled Convalidation Conferences throughout the Diocese of Brownsville.  Please refer to the dates available on the side menu on the registration form.

The conference starts at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m. and the cost for each couple is $75.00 which includes breakfast, lunch and materials.

The completed registration form can be emailed to [email protected] with a non-refundable fee of $75 payable by credit or debit card accepted over the phone or in person at the Family Life Office. A PayPal fee will be added to all credit or debit card transactions.  Alternately, a money order can be mailed to the address given below.  Please do not mail cash or checks.  A confirmation letter will be mailed to the couple once the registration and fee are received.

Reservations can be made by calling the Family Life Office at 956-784-5012.

Rescheduling will only be allowed in case of an emergency approved by the Director or Associate and will include a $30.00 rescheduling fee to offset meal costs.
