Diocesan Priesthood

Some people believe diocesan priests only celebrate Mass on Sundays, pray, and do confessions. However, diocesan priests do more than those priestly actions.

• Priests visit the sick and anoint the baptized.
• Priests witness and celebrate the sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
• Priests celebrate Masses for the Dead and bury the dead.
• Priests provide spiritual direction.
• Priests teach and provide sacramental instructions.
• Priests create time to pray.
• Priests administrate the Parish Office.
• Priests attend and lead several meetings.
• Priests lead parish projects.
• Priests save souls.
