Paseo de los Nacimientos

The Saint Joseph and Saint Peter Seminary at La Lomita in Mission, invites the community to visit their beautiful “Paseo de los Nacimientos” (a display of large nativity sets from Italy, Mexico and the United States, including other nativities from Bishop Peña’s personal collection), beginning on Tuesday, Dec. 8, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, with a 6:00 p.m. Mass and the Lighting of the Nacimientos by The Most Rev. Raymundo J. Peña, Bishop of Brownsville. The nacimientos will remain on display until Christmas Day.

Each evening, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., the seminary will host Posadas (with piñatas for the children), Christmas Carols from different parishes and community choirs, and plays or Pastorelas organized by different parish groups; etc.

The seminary will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Saturday, Dec. 12, with a Solemn Mass at 7:00 p.m. and Mañanitas to the Blessed Virgin. The following day, Sunday, Dec. 13, a Mass is scheduled at 11:00 a.m., for the benefactors and friends of the Seminary. A brief tour of the facilities at La Lomita will follow the morning Mass. In addition, before the Posada, an evening Mass is scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
