Diocese of Brownsville – Charitable Trust

On May 21, 1968, the Diocese of Brownsville established the Charitable Trust for the benefit of opening two low income housing sites:

  • La Merced Homes located in Mercedes, Texas

 

  • El Rosario Homes located in Mission, Texas.

La Merced Homes

Consists of 99 single family units that house the low income family, the elderly and disabled individuals under Section 8 housing rules.
