Convalidation Conference

The Convalidation Conference is a REFOCCUS preparation for civilly married couples who seek marriage in the church. During the Conference, couples learn about Marriage as a Sacrament, the Marriage Preparation Cycle, and Natural Family Planning. They also discuss and share with each other on the following topics: Marriage as a Process, Communication, Intimacy, Commitment, and Compatibility. Aside from learning more about their marriage, the couples experience a rare and wonderful opportunity to enrich and renew their commitment to themselves and their families.
The Family Life Office sponsors and presents six scheduled Convalidation Conferences throughout the Diocese of Brownsville. The conference starts at 8:45 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. and the cost for each couple is $25. Only couples who are referred by their parish priest or deacon to the Convalidation Conference are allowed to attend. When they call the Family Life Office to sign up for the Convalidation Conference, all couples are asked which parish they belong to.
The Convalidation Conference is presented either in Spanish or English only, however the material is available in both English and Spanish.
Reservations for 25 couples can be made by calling the Family Life Office at 784-5012 EXT. 412.

***Rescheduling will only be allowed in case of an emergency approved by the Director or Associate, and will include a $10.00 rescheduling fee***
