Human Resources

Mission

The office of Human Resources assists the Chancery, Parishes, and other entities within the Diocese with issues regarding personnel policies, employment and hiring procedures, salary/wage administration, performance evaluations, 403 b retirement plan, cafeteria plan, worker’s compensation, safety, and other related topics.

Staff

The Human Resources office is currently staffed by the Director of Human Resources and a part time secretary. The HR secretary coordinates most of the diocesan employee events and works closely with Director on worker’s compensation matters. Questions about first reports of injury can be directed to either one of us. The secretary and director are located in the Brownsville office most of the time. The director's goal is to be in the San Juan office at least once a week.

The HR director for the diocese is called for consultation; the director can recommend a course of action, but cannot give directives to parishes and schools. We welcome calls for us to come and visit the parishes and schools.
